·Herd and Flock Health Management:

We leverage our strategic partnerships to offer top-quality, tailor-made custom herd and flock health management services, backed by strategic planning and calendar designs. Our comprehensive programs, including dipping, vaccinations, deworming, and vitamin/mineral treatments, are implemented with precision. Impuls Africa has been cooperating with renowned animal health specialist Dr. Danie Odendaal from VET NETWORK for the past seven years.

 

·Cattle Reproduction:

Leveraging our expertise in livestock production, Impuls Africa’s reproductive services include fertility testing, pregnancy diagnosis, hormonal synchronization, and artificial insemination. Impuls is commitment to utilizing the latest technologies and techniques to improve not only improve herd genetics but also to improve overall production rates.

 

·Supply of Cattle Genetics

With a focus on promoting sustainable breeding practices, Impuls Africa collaborates with some of the biggest genetics companies globally, including ALTA Genetics Brasil, and others from South Africa the Czech Republic Our commitment to high-quality genetic material supports our Dairy Ranching concept, emphasizing dual-purpose breeds for enhanced milk and beef productivity. Among others, we offer genetics for Gyr, Sindi, Boran, Brahman, Senepol, Beefmaster and Fleckvie breeds to ensure maximum production and climate adaptability.

 

·Rangeland Management and Fodder Development:

Impuls Africa provides advisory services on rangeland management and fodder development so that farmers can increase their production and profitability. Our low input-medium output approach is based on regenerative principals that improve soil health and ensures pasture diversity as a result of non-selective grazing approaches. Our approach includes development and implementation of fodder planning as well as fodder management, harvest and storage. Impuls Africa cooperates pasture expert Henryque Borges (Brazil). 

 

·Supply of Fodder Seeds:

Impuls Africa is the Zambian representative for the Gasparim Group, one of Brazil’s largest fodder seed suppliers. Impuls Africa also sources some seeds locally and from South Africa. The company offers a wide range of pasture and legume seeds that including, among other: Brachiaria pastures, Panicum pastures, Stylosanthes legume, cow pea, pigeon pea and velvet beans.

Project Name: Chisamba Ranching and Cropping Small Holder Enhancement Program

Client: Chisamba Ranching and Cropping

Funder: EU Challenge Fund and Chisamba Ranching and Cropping

Dates: 2023 - Current

Impuls Africa is the implementation partner to provide capacity building to 1100 cattle, 500 woman/youth poultry and 300 woman/youth crop farmers. The company will further develop a tailored training manual and provide technical extension services for farmers in Western Province. Impuls Africa will develop a business case study, provide on-going monitoring and evaluation and conduct an end-line study for the project. 

 

 

Project: Strengthening Climate Resilience and Alternative Livelihoods in Agro-Ecological Zones I and II

Client: United Nations Development Programme
Funder: UNDP, FAO, WFP

Dates: 2023

Impuls Africa provided apiculture capacity building to 550 woman/youths across 10 districts including Sioma, Senanga, Shesheke, Kazangula, Nyimba, Gwembe, Mulobezi, Luangwa, Mambwe, Chama and Mafinga. The training included production and processing of honey wit h practical demonstrations. Impuls is creating market linkages for all of the groups by first developing supplier profiles for each producer group and then matching the group the best-suited offtaker.

 

Project Name: Commercialization of the Small Livestock Value Chain

Client: Prospero

Funder: UKAID

Dates: 2020-2022

Impuls Africa, in collaboration with Prospero, designed and implemented a sector-level small livestock initiative aimed at commercializing and formalizing the small livestock value chain. Impuls trained over 3500 smallholder farmers in goat and sheep products across several districts, including Lusaka, Rufunsa, Shibuyunji, Chongwe, Mumbwa, Chibombo, Kabwe, Mkushi, and Kalumbila. Further, Impuls played a crucial role in facilitating market access and establishing the Goat and Sheep Breeders Society of Zambia.

 

Other past projects in Western Province:

  • Client: Musika: 2016/17 – Provided capacity building, herd health and reproductive services to 500 smallholder in Western Province. 

  • Client: Czech Development Agency: 2017/2018 and 2018/2019 season – 2200 cattle were dewormed, vaccinated, synchronized and inseminated. In this programme smallholder farmers paid 30% of the program fee. Farmers achieved a 48% pregnancy from the program.

  • Client: Czech Development Agency: 2020: Training smallholders on crop and livestock integration, small livestock and legume production.
